About Us

For more than 30 years, Emar Services Inc. has designedmanufactured and supplied finequality equipment for commercial ships and mega yachts. Emar Service’s sales and service personnel support high quality marine equipment manufacturers offering a complete line of propulsion, maneuvering, sewage treatment, filtration, deck machinery, davits, release hooks and other custom designed marine equipment to the market.

We share a vision with our suppliers to provide our customers with the highest quality and value to meet the demands of the complex and demanding marine environment. The diversity of our product lines, together with the continued support and commitment from our suppliers, is key to our mutual success in supplying the best modern marine equipment available. Emar has successfully introduced many manufacturers to the Canadian market and assisted many of them to achieve their own lasting presence in Canada.

Emar Services has experience supplying goods and services to Canada for both combat and non-combat vessels. Our extensive experience in the industry allows us to collaborate and make recommendations to improve the overall design and functionality of the manufactured goods.  Our tailored approach provides design flexibility to accommodate scope changes not possible with off the shelf products, without incurring expected production delays or increased costs associated with ‘cookie-cutter’ manufacturing processes.

We have a dedicated project team assigned to each project, and we provide a single point of contact for all project activities. This streamlines communications and reduces the burden for our customers. Instead of directing specific tasks to specific personnel, you can simply correspond with our project manager and be assured your request will be addressed and resolved in a timely manner.

Project management and engineering activities are provided in house. Our staff is familiar with the Seaspan Sharepoint portal for document management, and we are able to produce and upload documents in the required formats and maintain the MRI and other templates as required.

The following are some high-level details of projects that Emar Services is proud to be currently contracted to deliver for Seaspan VSY as well as other Canadian customers:

In 2019, Emar Services was awarded the contract to design, manufacture and deliver the Side Shell Doors for the OOSV.

We have worked with the project team at Seaspan to define specifications, ensure proper integration with other ship’s systems, produce drawings and documentation to meet Seaspan’s exact requirements for this project. All drawings are Class Approved and provided in PDF, AutoCAD and 3D modelling.

We have recently completed all the VFI for this project and we are anticipating the kick-off meeting to release for manufacture so we can begin the next project phase. The side shell doors are required in yard XX 2022, and Emar Services has XX

Also in 2019, Emar Services was awarded the contract to design manufacture and deliver 16 deck hatches for the OOSV.

Again, we have worked with the Seaspan project team to design and deliver these custom deck hatches as required. We have sourced Canadian components such as high temp heat tracing and junction boxes, and we are manufacturing in Montréal, Québec, allowing us to deliver 100% Canadian Content, per our proposal.

After many months of design and engineering collaboration, the designs were Class Approved and the kick off meeting to release for manufacture was in August 2020. Emar Services is currently finalizing procurement and beginning the manufacturing process and we are on target to deliver in yard as required by May of 2021.

Both of the above projects have been underway for many months and Emar Services has supported VSY through project delays, change orders and delivery extensions. We strive to do our absolute best to support our customers, helping them to be successful. We are committed to delivering our projects on time and on budget, and every project makes us a better supplier partner as we continue to learn about Seaspan’s internal processes, templates and documentation, quality standards and overall expectations and requirements.

This year, Emar Services was successfully awarded multiple contracts to produce and deliver manhole covers for the JSS. Using Class Approved drawings provided by VSY, Emar Services was contracted to source all materials, manufacture and deliver more than 150 manhole cover assemblies over the last few months.

Emar Services was again able to provide 100% Canadian content and work with VSY stakeholders to re-prioritize our manufacturing to deliver some sizes and components ahead of time, allowing the shipyard to stay on schedule for installation.

Emar Services is currently working with one of our partner manufacturers (Winel BV) to produce and supply doors to Irving Shipyards for the AOPS project. In 2016, Emar Services Inc., as Winel BV’s agent in Canada, was awarded a multi-year contract to deliver side shell doors for the first 6 AOPS ships constructed.

Emar Services is designated and qualified to perform on-site inspections for commissioning and installation. Our personnel are security cleared , and we have the knowledge and experience to provide assistance with second and third line maintenance if required.

Emar Services also provides project management activities to support Winel and Irving for the duration of this project. We are responsible to ensure consistent clear communication and adherence to project schedules. We also support logistics and packaging requirements to ensure not only on-time delivery of goods and spares, but also that they can be received into the warehouse per the shipyard’s packaging and labelling requirements.

Last year, Emar Services was successfully awarded two contracts to design and deliver flush deck hatches for Chantier Davie Shipyards for the medium ice breakers for the Canadian Coast Guard. Working with key stakeholders, Emar Services designed and delivered custom hydraulic deck hatches that were DNV-GL certified.

Once delivered, Emar Services was contracted to design and deliver on-site operator training. A custom curriculum was professionally developed, produced and delivered to ensure crew members are able to safely operate, maintain, and if necessary, troubleshoot the hatches. Along with the user manuals that are produced and delivered with every project, crew training and after-sales service support from our technical department help to ensure that unscheduled downtime is minimized.

Some of the key benefits to choosing Emar Services as your supplier to deliver this project are highlighted below.
